West Flanders Brewing is getting behind the Broncos with this week’s Single Keg Series release.
The new beer is called Brett on the Broncos and is a blend of Obfuscation Trippel and Angry Monk Golden Ale that was fermented with Brettanomyces. “The Brettanomyces yeast adds some wonderful and very appropriate barnyard notes and aromas of horse blankets,” notes West Flanders head brewer Brian Lutz. “And unlike Tom Brady or Bill Belichick, there’s nothing winey about the beer and we didn’t cheat to make it.” Thursday’s tapping is at 5 PM. Breckenridge Brewery is launching their newest seasonal, Ophelia Hoppy Wheat Ale on Thursday.
Stop by The Irish Rover in Denver from 4 – 7 PM and enjoy free pints and appetizers. You’ll also be able to meet the brewers behind this new release. Ophelia is a refreshing, hopped up Wheat Ale, brewed with Mosaic and Palisade hops. It’ll be hitting town in bottles and kegs this week. Yak & Yeti’s got a pair of new brews ready for you this weekend. Yak’s RIS is a 9.1% ABV, 120 IBU Russian Imperial Stout. Also check out the new Molasses Porter, which was tapped yesterday. Here’s the rest of this week’s lineup.

Tickets to Avery’s Strong Ale Fest go on sale on Friday at 9 AM.
The festival itself will be held at Avery Brewing Company on Friday, February 28th from 5 – 10 PM and Saturday, March 1st from noon – 5 PM. Tickets are $50 each and proceeds go to charity. Denverites – Rackhouse is running a bus on Saturday. Don’t miss this!

The Post will tap their very first beer on Friday!
Lil’Buddy is an American Style Bitter that will get tapped at 4 PM. Brewer Bryan Selders will be on hand during the tapping party, so stop by, say “Hi!” and welcome Colorado’s newest brewery. The Post is located at: 105 W Emma St, Lafayette, CO 80026.
Dry Dock Brewing will tap Poor Richard’s Ale on Friday at noon.

Brewed is presented by Imbibe and will be held at Epic Brewing on Saturday from 10 – 11:30 AM. Five local brewers and five local coffee roasters will be on hand to discuss the relationship, endless possibilities and future of coffee & beer. Cannonball Creek Brewing Company in Golden is turning One!
Stop by the brewery on Saturday and help celebrate the special day. They’ll have food and live music all day. On the beer front, they’ll be tapping an Anniversary Trippel, a collaboration ale with the School of Mines Homebrew Club, plus many specialty releases like Espresso Battlecat Stout and Tangerine Featherweight Pale. Sanitas Brewing will host the Boulder Food Truck Chili Cook-Off on Saturday.

The Denver Winter Brew Fest returns to Mile High Station next weekend.
